Oga Onsen

This hot spring village has been known as the main accommodation base for Oga since the early Showa period (around the $1920text{s}$–$1930text{s}$). It has long been popular among common people as a hot spring cure resort (tōji-ba).Containing salts similar to seawater, it is also called "Netsu no Yu" (Hot Bath) because the body resists cooling down after bathing. It offers high heat retention and is also beneficial for achieving beautiful skin.

Oga Aquarium GAO

This aquarium stands in a superb location overlooking the Sea of Japan. The "Oga Sea Grand Tank" is truly spectacular.It exhibits 10,000 living creatures of 400 species, including polar bears, penguins, seals, and sea lions. They also offer year-round exhibits of Akita Prefecture's prefectural fish, the "Hatahata" (Sandfish), allowing visitors to carefully observe the ecology of species unique to Akita.

When in full bloom, the hydrangeas completely dye the grounds blue, with the Sea of Oga stretching out beyond them.These hydrangeas, carefully cultivated over many years by the temple's vice chief priest, cover the temple grounds in a brilliant blue.
