The greatest feature of this town is the street where heavy &#8220;stone walls&#8221; beautifully stacked with round river stones carried from the nearby Hiwaki River and beautiful hedges are arranged in an orderly manner, and just walking through it wraps you in a deep emotion as if you had slipped through time to the samurai era. Tours of beautiful thatched gates (such as the former Masuda family residence) preserved in their original state are very popular with international tourists.
