The Tottori Castle Ruins, which convey the remnants of the Sengoku period, are known as a “stone wall fortress” built along the slopes of the mountain. Currently maintained as Kyusho Park, it becomes one of the prefecture’s leading cherry blossom viewing spots where hundreds of cherry trees bloom in spring. The greatest highlight is Japan’s only “Maki-ishigaki” (spherical stone wall), whose unique architectural technique fascinates history and architecture fans. The contrast with the adjacent white Western-style building “Jinpukaku” is also wonderful, allowing you to simultaneously feel the power of samurai culture and the elegance of the Meiji era.
